What Is LSVT LOUD?
LSVT LOUD (Lee Silverman Voice Treatment) is a standardized, research-backed therapy approach that helps individuals with Parkinson’s improve their vocal loudness, intonation, and speech clarity. It’s built around the concept of “thinking loud” to recalibrate the brain’s perception of normal speech volume—something that Parkinson’s often distorts.
The program is intensive: four sessions per week for four weeks, with daily homework and carryover tasks. But the results can be life-changing.
According to research published in the Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research, patients who complete LSVT LOUD therapy show significant improvements in vocal loudness and speech intelligibility that can last up to two years.
LSVT LOUD is not just about increasing volume—it focuses on building healthy vocal habits, enhancing speech clarity, and improving overall communication skills.
Signs Parkinson’s Patients May Benefit from LSVT LOUD
Reduced speech volume
Monotone or flat speech
Hoarse or weak voice
Difficulty being understood in noise
Feeling frustrated when speaking
Early intervention with LSVT LOUD can lead to better outcomes and improved quality of life.
How LSVT LOUD Works at Our Clinics
