Pelvic Floor Therapy

Pelvic Floor Therapy was once known as “Women’s Health”, but we all know expands beyond the female anatomy. This avenue of therapy addresses musculoskeletal disorders within a person’s core which extends from the diaphragm down to the pelvis and from the abdominal muscles back to the deep back and spinal stabilizing muscles.

Many people experience pelvic pain and dysfunction from surgical procedures, urinary or bowel incontinence or constipation, muscular imbalance, etc. A common misconception is that pelvic floor

therapy is only for prenatal or postnatal women, however all genders can experience pelvic pain or dysfunction just like if it was any other part of the body.

Our therapists take an individualized approach and assessment to your specific needs from being able to evacuate a bowel movement to being able to pick up your child without leakage to experiencing pain-free intimacy with your partner. Treatment includes assessment and recommendations for proper hydration, positioning needs, stabilization strengthening of weakened musculature, down-training or relaxation of tight musculature, use of manual or electrical biofeedback, and use of bracing techniques. Our therapist will ensure your needs are being addressed in order for you or your loved one to get the care they deserve and to get the outcomes you desire.
