Cathy entered the Physical Therapy field with a BS in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh in 1978. She earned a clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Virginian Commonwealth University in 2011, and also advanced certification as a Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS) from the American Physical Therapy Association in 2014. She has been a certified LSVT Big therapist for the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease (PD) since 2014 and focuses her current practice on treatment of people with neurodegenerative diseases. Another area of interest is in the treatment of postural problems and osteoporosis, with level 2 training as a Meeks method practitioner in 2018. Cathy is a current board member of the local Parkinson Foundation of the National Capital Area (PFNCA), a local non-profit that provides group exercise classes, support groups, and education for people with PD in the local metro area, a member of the Advisory Board for the NVCC Physical Therapy Assistant program, and is a current board member of the Virginia Physical Therapy Association (VPTA). She loves dogs and running with her German Shepherd.
